It's all about the Journey, not the destination

“Keep going, keep doing, keep taking action because it’s that little imperfect action every single day that’s going to make the difference.”

Brooke Elder

Today is episode 109 and we will be talking about how you can really enjoy the journey. “It’s all about the journey and not the destination” is a commonly used phrase in the network marketing business, but we don’t really live it like we should because people, in general, don’t really know what that means.

Finding joy in the journey really IS a journey! Another way that you can say it is fall in love with the process. This is something, especially in the times we are living in now, with the unknown and challenges we face, that it really is about the process, the journey. It’s more about becoming the person that we become rather than the destination that we hit.

“All goals are our self-defined guidelines” - Brooke Elder.

How many of you have set a goal for yourself and then you didn’t hit it? What happens to us sometimes is it makes us spiral, it makes us start thinking that we are not good enough or that we can’t do this network marketing thing.

Instead of looking at not accomplishing your goal, think about what you can change, what can you do to make it better. There may be things that are happening in your life or in the world that attributed to you not being able to reach your goal. This is what finding joy in the journey and falling in love with the process really is.

Most of the time things don’t happen the way we exactly think that they will. Sometimes they do and we get lucky, but the majority of the time, they don’t. Every experience and everything that we are going through, all of those things are designed to help us become the best version of ourselves.

Everything that happens is just an experience. That’s it. We get to choose with our emotions what kind of emotion that we are going to put on that situation. We can compare ourselves with others, start putting ourselves down, and feeling like we are not good enough.

Here’s the opposite way to look at it. Everything that happens is just data. That’s all it is. Evaluate the situation and take the opportunity to learn. What can you tweak to make it better the next time? That’s the way of looking at things like data.

“Falling in love with the process means that we don’t let all of the outside forces define who we truly are inside.” - Brooke Elder.

That’s what finding joy in the journey is all about. Everyone has something that they need to learn. Life doesn’t come to an end if you do something that is imperfect.
