Is it possible to be a leader in your network marketing industry and still have a life? Our heart can say yes, while our mind is wondering, “How?!” Many of us were drawn to entrepreneurship with a desire to gain freedom and a flexible schedule. However, if you are like us, it can be easy to feel tied to our phone with more messages than time to send replies. If you feel bombarded with “buggy” downline marketers who continue to ask you the same questions over and over, it may be time to make some changes.

If you are feeling the overwhelm of a never ending to-do list, the first place to start is probably with effective boundary setting. When we’re growing a business, we can be so excited to help others that we want to be available at all hours to help our downline. It’s important to remember that you are not the savior. You are not going to make anyone’s dreams come true in the span of one text answered at 9:30 pm. Your opportunity as an upline is to empower those under you to run their own business! You’re not going to have the time to grow your business organically if you are focused on managing the team you already have.

This week, find one area of your life that you can either automate or delegate. It could be something practical, like finding a grocery service, or business related, like creating new consultant training videos. In the midst of working towards efficiency and effective boundaries, spend some intentional time with your family this week. Take an hour or two, shut off your phone, and play with your kids or spend time with your husband. There are no emergencies in network marketing, your clients and downline can wait.
